All this from one person! Thanks! Try the usgenweb.com. It is a web of all the states, broken down by counties. Each of the counties are hosted by a person or group. the information varies from one county to another, depending on what the host thinks is relevant. You can also access the international gen web from there. The different international sites are great for geography and history of the countries. I used the site for Wales when doing a paper on the folk lore of Wales and the contrirbutions the geography and history made to the folk tales. I am afraid I got carried away when going through all my book marks. Hope some of these will help. Some are links to other pages, and some are instructional. The first one is one done as a student project for an internet class in the Information and Library Science School at UNC. These sites will help with history projects too. I have included URLS for Native American, African American, and Quaker subjects along with the Revolutionary period, the colonial period and the civil war era. http://www.ils.unc.edu/familyhistory/roots.htm http://www.ancestory.com/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~quakers/osborn.htm http://home.swbell.net/reb4ever/dat74.htm#4 http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ http://www.english.upenn.edu/cgi-bin/morgan/infl.pl http://www.rootsweb.com/roots-l/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~quakers/osborn.htm#part7 http://tristate.pgh.net/~bsilver/legion.htm http://www.cwc.lsu.edu/civlink.htm http://home.att.net/~MDriskill/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~varockbr/scotpres.htm http://www.brokersys.com/~joguerra/jose.html http://www.firstct.com/fv/oldhand.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/ http://home.earthlink.net/~krista3/surname.htm http://members.aol.com/johnf14246/gen_mail.html http://www.civilwar.org/cwt-exp.htm http://www.nara.gov/genealogy/civilwar.html http://www.nara.gov/genealogy/postal.html http://firedragon.com/~rlwp/chesterco.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~GENHOME/ship01.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~GENHOME/lnd1682.htm http://www.duke.edu/web/chlamy/ http://www.edwards1.com/rose/genealogy/native-gen/native-gen.htm http://everton.com/special.html#native http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/vroyal/ http://www.civilwar.org/cwt-exp.htm http://image.vtls.com/ ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/va/nottoway/census/1850cens.txt http://198.17.62.51/cgi-bin/drawer/disk19/CC150/0653/W0453?1 http://users.aol.com/johnf14246/gen_mail.html http://www.oz.net/~cyndihow/ http://www.toltbbs.com/~jbritt/G1/Surnames.htm http://freespace.virgin.net/alan.tupman/sites/ships.htm http://198.17.62.51/colonial/ http://freespace.virgin.net/alan.tupman/sites/ships.htm http://members.aol.com/HoseyGen/NCLOYAL6.HTML http://www.cwc.lsu.edu/civlink.htm http://freespace.virgin.net/alan.tupman/sites/ships.htm http://huguenot.netnation.com/ http://www.doitnow.com/~moravia/census.html http://cpcug.org/user/jlacombe/mark.html http://leo.vsla.edu/ http://www.rootsweb.com/ http://ukcc.uky.edu/~vitalrec/ http://mininet.smu.edu/cla/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyharris/1812how.htm http://www.nara.gov/publications/microfilm/census/1790-1890/17901890.html http://search.usgenweb.com/archives/ http://www.ancestory.com/ http://listserv.northwest.com/~haight/Ships.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/indexhw.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~ote/nyship.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~GENHOME/ship01.htm http://www.brokersys.com/~joguerra/jose.html http://www.dsenter.com/~jmurphy/lessons/lessons.htm http://www.genealogy.org/~holdiman/LSG/libraries.html http://www.agll.com/trivia/7steps.html http://pw1.netcom.com/~jog1/churchlist.html http://www2.kbyu.byu.edu/ancestors/ http://www2.kbyu.byu.edu/ancestors/teachersguide/charts-records.html http://www.alaska.net/~winter/bouvier1856.html http://issl.cs.byu.edu/famHist/home.html http://www.lds.org/Family_History/How_Do_I_Begin.html http://www.gendex.com:8080/display?page=surnames& http://members.aol.com/johnf14246/internet.html http://www.dsenter.com/~jmurphy/lessons/lessons.htm http://genealogy.org/NGS/netguide/ngpart4.html http://www.i-america.net/homepages/sngunn/links.html http://www.ghg.net/sellers/html/petition.htm http://www.ancestry.com/home/times.htm http://www.kindredkonnections.com/index.html http://www.kokomo.lib.in.us/gdlinks.html http://members.aol.com/genwebindx/bios.htm http://www.gnofn.org/~nopl/links/genlinks/genlinks.htm http://www.genhomepage.com/full.html http://www.cablenet.net/pages/1066/archive/archive.htm http://digiserve.com/heraldry/ http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/6459/g0000007.htm#I723 http://www.ucr.edu/h-gig/hist-periods/medie.html#per153 http://www.cs.cmu.edu/afs/andrew.cmu.edu/org/Medieval/www/src/medieval.html http://digiserve.com/heraldry/medieval.htm http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/3061/gencaj1.htm http://www.oz.net/~cyndihow/sites.htm http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Plains/1968/ http://www.rootsweb.com/~genepool/websites.htm#surnames http://www.rootsweb.com/~quakers/clayinfo.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~quakers/ http://www.seidata.com/~lhoffman/gen.html http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/Genea/rsluser?jrsis http://www.rootsweb.com/roots-l/usa.html http://mapping.usgs.gov:8888/gnis/owa/MapServer?f_name=Wilson+Cemete http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/gnisform.html http://www.algonet.se/~cristar/index.htm http://www.pa1776.com/ http://www.dcr.state.nc.us/iss/gr/genealog.htm#county http://www.ci.durham.nc.us/planning/mangum/exist/culture.html http://www.rootsweb.com/~chalkley/ http://leo.vsla.edu/ http://leo.vsla.edu/archives/genie.html http://ideanet.doe.state.in.us/ Hope the teacher enjoys this!
