ELEM:Moving a library mid year

Dear LM_Netters=0AOnce again I come to source of good advice... those in =
the trenches.  Here=92s=0Athe problem=0AWe have 2 elementary libraries ea=
ch of about 9000 volumes  that  are going to=0Abe moving to new facilitie=
s over spring break. My colleague and I are both 1=0Aperson operations..n=
o clerks but we do have volunteers to help with check out=0Aand shelving.=
  We both teach 24 classes a week to grades K-5 (500 students)=0Aand are =
contractual plan periods for 16 of those.=0A=0ASpring Break was chosen so=
 as not to disrupt the students.  We believe the=0Aplan is to have the ma=
intenance people do the packing  but just of the books=0A--no AV because =
that what was done last spring when the other libraries in the=0Adistrict=
 were renovated.=0AThey will also be responsible for dismantling the curr=
ent shelving,moving it=0Ato the new room,installing it in the new room , =
then ripping out the carpeting=0Ain our rooms so new floors can be laid a=
nd the Art Rooms moved into the old=0Alibraries.There has been no talk fr=
om the administration about closing the=0Alibraries before the move or ri=
ght after the move to pack and/or unpack nor=0Ahas there been any talk ab=
out getting substitutes to cover our classes during=0Athe process. =0A=0A=
=0AWe know we have to ask for the time to supervise the packing etc. but =
if we=0Acould have a few good arguments as to why from people outside our=
 district who=0Ahave made this move during the school year it will be mor=
e convincing.=0A=0AAlso if you have any advice as to other things we shou=
ld be sure to do or not=0Ado we would be very grateful.=0A=0ATIA.=0A=0A=
