disposing of weeded books

Our system does not provide for disposal of weeded books.  I have a lot =
to get rid of and am trying to do it a little at a time.  I follow =
procedure, tape them into a box, and then drop the box in the dumpster.  =
Should I take the book apart or what?  I don't want to do more than =
necessary but I don't want to have trouble later on.  You know how =
sensitive an issue this is with those who don't understand.  What do you =
do?
