After I had deleted a few responses, I came across a request for a hit =
on this topic. Sorry I missed the discussion this summer, I didn't =
sign-on until this fall. I guess there is no way to keep everyone happy:

I prefer no sender info, but whether to copy and paste or summarize really
depends on the information--how much, how long, how easy to summarize, how
necessary the details are, etc.

-

Personal opinion only. I prefer #3 - summarize the responses. It
would save reading time.

I personally prefer to have replies summarised - that saves the reader a
lot of time and space, but is more work for the one doing the Hit.

...#1 response. Although I can see where you might use any one of them
depending on the different hits.
That's nice of you to be so considerate.

I prefer #3.:>

Personally, I prefer the summary, but either of the others doesn't
really bother me.

One advantage of copying with the sender's information is that
private conversations can take place off the list without bothering
anyone else. If you post the original message without the
information I would have to write to you to ask who said the part
that I was interested in.

I prefer seeing the hit the way it was received and the sender's
email address. Two reasons: There's always a chance that paraphrasing
the sender's information may unintentionally skew it; and I may want to
email the sender myself to gain more info.

I generally prefer summarized results, much faster to skim through. Every
now and then, full text may be better for some specific discussions.

#1 -- without the sender's name. Now--please do not post this part of my
message: Not long ago I replied to a question, and I did not realize it
was going to be a hit. I was frank in my answer, and when I saw my reply
and name posted in a hit, I was horrified, because everyone who knows me
would know who and what I was talking about.

#1 :)

Hi Susan - Anyway you do it is fine with me - cut and pasting is ok and you
can either use my name or not. Whatever is the quickest! We media people
have lots to do and I am sure you are no exception. Thanks for asking,
though. Have a good year. Bev
