New School Librarian

Hi Netters:
        I'm a former public librarian and I've recently been hired as an
elementary school librarian.  Since this is my first school library job
and my colleagues are mostly teachers-turned-librarians, I'm interested
in hearing any strategies on how you coped with job, school, etc. from
others who chose the public library to school library route. Please
