Re: Phone calls from commercial concerns

I agree with Erica Thorsen: It is intrusive to receive phone calls from
publishers, vendors, distributors, etc. in response to a posting we send
here.  However, this is a public forum and we can not/should not attempt
to stop anyone from using it.

We can protest vigorously through this listserve, and perhaps the
vendors, etc., will hear us.  We can tell them off in no uncertain terms
when and if they do call.  We can indicate clearly that we will not deal
with them in the future.

I personally feel that a reply by email from such vendors is not nearly
as intrusive, and is MUCH preferred!
