Excuse me if I'm missing the point, but it seems to me that we should be taking a stand against actions that hurt people, either physically or spiritually. My children faced pinching and, in the school they attended the teacher equated it with "it's tradition," thereby legitimizing it. The same teacher, by the way, used that same argument to continue doing nothing about Wednesdays as "Flip Day" when my daughter had to wear a dress so the boys could "flip" it up. She could not understand what was so upsetting. Let's get rid of these hurting practices! -- Earl Sande, Upper School Librarian, International School of Tanganyika, United Nations Road, Post Office Box 2651, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (e-mail : sandes@wilken-dsm.com) =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
