While I agree we've had more than our fair share of "This is a hoax!"
messages, I think it's extremely important to have the entire group get
the message. If all of us who had sent the messages had only sent them to
the original author, then all that would have accomplished is getting her
to not send any more. It would not, however, warn the _thousands_ of
people on lm_net to not forward the message as well. It's kind of like
telling Typhoid Mary to stay in her room after she's infected an entire
city - the damage is done, the potential carriers must be warned, so to
speak.

So if this brief spat of messages is annoying, do your best to ignore them
and hit the delete key. An overload of six or seven warnings is a
hell of a lot better than the thousands of proliferating hoax messages
that could be stopped by these warnings.
