GEN: The House of Wooden Santas

Summer Greetings to Fellow LM_Netters,

Here I am finally catching up on some of my reading.  I would like to
strongly recommend that you check out "The House of the Wooden Santas" by
Kevin Major with wood carvings by Imelda George.  It is a very thoughtful
Christmas story covering the 24 days before Christmas.  The illustrations
are all photographs taken by Ned Pratt of Santa carvings done by Imelda.
Kevin's story touches on single parent issues, friendships, moving to new
locations....  The character development is wonderful and there is lots of
room for children and adults to use their own imagination.  But the best
part is that the focus is on the power of believing in something.  I can't
wait to share this special book with my staff and students during the next
Christmas season.  I hope you will, too.

It is published by Red Deer College Press here in Canada and the ISBN # is
0-88995-166-7.
