There's an owl in the shower by Jean Craighead George This is a cute story which takes place out west in the middle of the Spotted Owl controversy. The son of a logger who was put out of work finds a baby owl thinking it was a different breed than a spotted owl. The family nurses the owlet and learns to love it but eventually have to let it go. While this is obviously an "environmental story", the message does not overpower the story such as in this author's "Who really killed Cock Robin." I acquired this 134 page book at our book fair. *** Frederick Muller fmuller@planet.net Halsted Middle School Library (973) 383-7440 ext.228 59 Halsted Street FAX (973) 383-7432 Newton, NJ 07860 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
