Target: The future of school libraries

Help again?  This time I have been invited to contribute a chapter to an
upcoming book on the future of libraries.  Of course, my piece will deal
with the subject nearest our hearts.  If you have a crystal ball handy,
please help.

What is your vision for school libraries?  What will be our most important
services? What will our collections look like?  What will we look like
physically?  How will the new standards impact on our effectiveness?  What 
strategies should we incorporate to
achieve excellence?  What battles need to be fought?  Any other ideas . . . .

I am also looking for examples of outstanding school library web pages.
I will certainly go through Peter's and Linda's collections, but
recommendations are very welcome!!!
