Yes, the book, String Figures and How to Make Them by Caroline Furness Jayne is still available. It is "the" book when it comes to string figures. Caroline Jayne wrote it in 1906. It was the first book about string figures ever published. Jayne collected many of the figures from people attending the St. Louis Exposition in 1904. Ruth's edition that she told about was published in 1962, Dover reprinted it in 1975. It is still in print and still very reasonable. It sells for $6.95, Amazon sells it for $5.56! I purchased a new copy for myself just last week. It is not easy reading but if you're serious about learning more string figures, this is a book you need to have.
