Dear LM_Netters,

It's summertime here in the Northern hemisphere, school is finally out
and I have time to think! A thread yesterday got my brain in gear. We
often see posts for jobs but there are no salaries listed. Someone even
asked recently how to broach the subject when a position was offered
without a salaly offer.

What I would like to know is what the salary range is for a beginning
MLS job applicant w/o experience in your area. Now I know that SLJ
usually published such a list but it's not meaningful unless you know
something about the economics of the area. So I am asking for the
average rent on a one bedroom apartment in your area as well. As those
of us who are familiar with the Postal Service salaries( which are
national) know, what is a great salary in a small midwestern town would
not be considered much in NYC or San Francisco.

So here goes my information:

Matawan-Aberdeen Reg. S.D. central NJ
starting salalry $34,000
average 1 bedroom apartment $600

Please send answers to me at home so we don't clog up LM_NET. I promise
to post a HIT.
