HUMOR: Parade of Famous Americans

I wanted to share with you a couple of highlights from our recent 2nd
grade parade of famous Americans. You may feel the need to write me and
encourage me to guide these children a little more thoroughly through
the research process!

George Washington, dressed in knickers and with his hair magnificently
spray-painted silver by his mother, ended his little show and tell by
explaining that another reason he is remembered is because he never told
a lie and because he "chopped down the first cherry tree!"

Next up was a sweet, shy little girl, proudly and flamboyantly dressed
as her character in an actual gold lame' pageant/party dress complete
with crinkling crinolines. Imagine my surprise when she picked up the
microphone and annouced "I am Sandra Day O'Connor."
