Here are the replies I received to my question regarding a software program that allows a teacher to type symbols related to math (pi, square root, etc.): 1. Math Type - a software program which is an extension of Microsoft Mathware Ltd., P.O. Box 3025, Urbana, IL 61803, 800-255-2468 $89 - You can qualify for this pricing if you own MS Works, Word Perfect, Power Point, otherwise it's about $149 I have not tried these other suggestions because I have MS Works but here they are: 2. Using Microsoft Word Equation Editor, click on Insert then click on equation editor. 3. Using Corel Word Perfect, click on Insert, Character, Math/Scientific. 4. Using MS Word, click on insert, symbol font menu. Thanks to everyone who sent me their suggestions. I think my husband is going to order the Math Type program.
