Hi Folks--
That old chart of the 10 Dewey categories really bothers me and I assume=
=0Abothers a lot of people. Man discovers religion. Man does science. Man=
 writes=0Adown his thoughts... Man oh man. Read that chart aloud, and gua=
ranteed the=0Agirls will look at you real funny. Change the word "man" to=
 "people"--now=0Ayou're cooking and you've just included the other 50% of=
 the world. We may=0Aknow that man is supposed to stand for "mankind," bu=
t it still sounds so=0Asnooty, especially to the females.

I was surprised to see so many people still using the original chart. Yea=
rs=0Aback SLJ ran a new all-inclusive, updated chart, but I haven't a clu=
e when=0Athey did it. Some highly organized person out there probably can=
 fill us in.
