Gertrude Chandler Warner?

Hi

A third grader came into me today with a letter he'd written to Gertrude
Chandler Warner and wanted her address:-) I gave him the address for
Albert Whitman & Company and told him she might not be alive since
Boxcar Children was published back in 1942. I went to the many author
sites I have bookmarked as well as tried to find her or Albert Whitman &
Co in a metacrawler search...but came up with nothing of use. Any chance
someone out there knows about her?
