Using Netscape or MS Explorer I have been advised that one should not type
a new location in the "location bar" which shows the location where one is
currently at, at the top of the screen but rather should actually go to the
"open location" button on the Netscape (or other browser) menu bar and
type, in the box that opens, the new URL for the location where one wishes
to go.

Can anyone give me the rationale for this or is it a procedure that has no
basis in fact?
