GEN: Job Opening

Mason City High School in Mason City Iowa has an opening for a media
specialist with strong technology skills. The high school Information
Center (IC) serves 1300 students and has two  computer labs, one consisting
of 24 IBM and Mac computers. The second has nine Multimedia Power Macs. The
district is finishing networking their building with LANs and a WAN.

The media specialist will supervise five paraprofessionals who work in the IC.

The media specialist will work with teachers to integrate technology and
materials into the curriculum. The media specialist will also be
responsible for providing for retrieval of information, evaluating and
communicating the information and assisting students and teachers to do the
same.

Mason City is a city of about 30,000 and is the River City that native son
Meredith Willson used as a setting in his musical, "The Music Man".
