Dear LM_Netters--
Thanks for your rapid response to my query about the creatures with
stars on their bellies.  Within just a couple of hours of my posting, I
had 30 responses telling me that the creatures are sneetches from "The
Sneetches and Other Stories."  Someone mentioned they are found in "The
Lorax."  To John, who answered to the whole group because his message
didn't get through to me at my e-mail address: I don't know what
happened, but I believe all the other messages came through o.k. at my
address.
