Elem: Author Paulette Bourgeois

I have tried all the usual places (Something About the Author, web sites
regarding children's literature,Canadian authors, Biography Today,
etc.,etc.)but still cannot find anything (except that she is Canadian)
on children's author Paulette Bourgeois.  She is the author of the
Franklin (the turtle) books.  I have a first grade teacher who would
like to begin an author study but hesitates without having biographical
info on her.  My call to Scholastic, her publisher, has not been
successful either.  If anyone has any information on Paulette Bourgeois,
I would greatly appreciate it.
