I am retiring in June, our school district just posted my position in Newsday
(LI) today in the classified section.
Fall 1998
Library Media Specialist (elementary K-6)
 (I worked in 2 schools .8  MOn -Thurs .2 Friday.)
Documents needed by district:
no later than March 23,1998
Name, Address, and phone
teacher certification
social security number

Applicants must be available for the District written exam on Saturday April
4,

(Last year's test was from an Advanced Placement English Exam (regents)
The district is on Long Island in Suffolk County, about 50 miles from NY City.
In  a suburban community. (Elementary libraries are not yet automated or
online).
Classes are on a  fixed schedule, with some (not all ) teacher cooperation.
My principals are very pleasant to work with. Budget is moderate.
We have 2 Macs in  the libraries and 1 pt aide in each library. This year  my
main school had 2 hours a day on para time.
I teach 27 classes in a week.
