HIT: HS Reference Databases

I thought I'd let you all know that responses to my posting regarding
the quality of the Gale online databases in the "Discovering" series was
uniformly excellent! Of approximately 25 responses, not a one had a
single criticism (unless you'd count long printouts a problem). Everyone
agreed that they are well-written, authoritative, easy and intuitive to
use and well related to the curriculum. In addition to the quality of
the resources, I'd also have to say that their online service is great.
I emailed their rep at 8:30 and by 10:00 I had access to all 5 of the
databases I wanted to preview along with a message regarding the
pricing, which is as follows:

                      Discovering Most Studied Authors    $
267/annually for 30 concurrent users
                                "                  Biography
$ 133/annually        "
                                "                  Science
$  200/annually        "
                                "                  U.S.
History             "                         "
                                "                  World
History          "                         "

I looked them all over and have decided to subscribe to all five!
