TARGET: Circulating Laptops In Sets

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

We are considering the purchase of a classroom set of laptops to circulate
as a set to classrooms. Some of the uses would be to connect to the
Internet (e.g., e-mail, research), in addition to use for word processing,
desktop publishing, presentations, spreadsheets and databases.

Do any of you (in the library or otherwise in your school) circulate
classroom sets of laptops to your classrooms? (Not as individual units,
but as a set.)

Are they used for Internet access from the classroom?

If so, for how long, and is it considered successful? Have there been any
serious problems (repair, maintenance, compatibility, printers...?)

I need to know by tomorrow, the morning of 3-11-98. Will post the results
to the group.
