Dear All,
Another aspect of the preference for a large bookstore as opposed to a
public library may be that the bookstore provides greater accessibility to
people with long workdays. My daughter and her husband, both avid readers, have
acquired an impressive collection of books because it is easier to shop at the
bookstore in the local mall than to find their local library open after 5:00
pm. The state they live in no longer provides adequate funding for public
libraries to keep reader-friendly hours.
