A grade 4 teacher is looking for more examples of "paired" folktales, = so she can have her students compare and contrast them. Examples she = has used in the past follow. Can anyone suggest any more? Little Cat and Little Hen (from Tortoise Tales) Why Mosquitoes Buzz in Peoples Ears (Aardema, 398.2 AAR) -------------------------------------- Fishermans Wife (398.26) Fisherman=B9s Wife (in Eric Carle=B9s Storybook, 398.2 G) -------------------------------------- Claypot Boy Gingerbread Boy (in Fairy Tale Treasury, by Briggs) -------------------------------------- Twelve Months (398.2 ALI) Little Sister and Month Brother (398.2 D) -------------------------------------- The Husband who was to mind the House (in East of the Sun, West of = the Moon) Turnabout (398.2 WIE) -------------------------------------- I checked with her, and she doesn't want examples like, Korean = Cinderella and Egyptian Cinderella. I know this seems a little = "vague" but I hope someone can help. I've tried to question her about = it, but she keeps telling me she wants "similar folktales". **************************************************************** Suzanne Weinheimer, Library Media Specialist South Mountain School/Annex (K-4) South Orange, NJ 07079 voice/fax 1-973-378-7848 personal email: suzanne@whatexit.com school email: smlib@bellatlantic.net school web page: http://southmountain.somsd.k12.nj.us ***************************************************************** =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
