SEC: REF: Amazon

Colleagues,

Please help me out of an embarassing situation. Some students have asked
for detailed information on "dam on the Amazon River". I cannot even find
any *reference* to a dam on the Amazon River, although it seems there may
be dams on some of its tributaries.

I looked in Britannica CD, Ebsco MAS, all the usual encyclopedias, and
done my best searching the web. But I'm not very expert and have found
very little that's helpful.

Can anyone please either: enlighten me about this dam
                  and/or :  please give me some hints about where I can
look to find more information.
