HIT: Sec: Science CD-ROMs

Thanks to all who replied to my request for suggestions of science reference
CD-ROMs for our high school library network.  Here is a summary of responses:

Magill's Survey of Science:     (1) No
                                (1) Yes - mostly text, few images, runs well on
                                          network


McGraw-Hill:                    (1) No - looks flashy, disappointed with depth
                                         of content
                                (1) Didn't like earlier version - hard to use
                                        and not much more than a science
                                        dictionary
                                (1) Ok - not used as much as expected but still
                                        glad they bought it


DISCovering Science:            (2) Yes - well used, nice features, heartily
                                        recommend it


Newsbank's Science Source       (1) Yes
and SIRS
