Need Soil Samples

I am posting this for the first grade teachers at on of my elementary
buildings.  Please help us with this project!
Dear Friends,
The two first grade classes at Centennial Elementary are doing a unit in
science called "How Does Your Garden Grow".  We are studying soil and would
like to study samples from throughout the United States.  If you could help
us, please send a sample of your state’s soil.  Please place it in a ziploc
bag and mail it to us at :
Mrs. McKee’s and Mrs. Tobey’s First Graders

Please include a brief explanation of your area with the bag.  We will
enjoy locating you on our maps and comparing soil types from around the
