I must disagree. Mary of the wonderful books that were considered great
litearture I read in third, fourth, fifth and sixith grade. And while reading
them I felt as though I had been given a gift. To kill s mockingbird,
happened to be about a little girl nanes
Scout and her brother and theri crzay friend, but it was a world that they let
me into, and even though I had little idea of what was going on I knew that
Socut and her friends and dad were right and the otherw were wrong. I read it
again as an adult, understood it bette, but lost a bit of the magic. I think
books lite the Giver, Wrinkle in Time, Midwife's apprentice and Catherine
called birdy, do that for us. They give us the magic twice, and sometimes the
magis is bes the first time when we still see it through the eyes of a child.
