HIT: Selecting Text with Netscape 4.03

I was not able to select text on my recently upgraded Netscape Communicator
4.03 (Mac platform).  I upgraded to Netscape 4.04 and now I can select the
text, but it is VERY sluggish.  Apparently I am not the only one struggling
with this problem. - Evie

Here are the responses I received:

When I first upgraded I thought the same thing.  What I found (by mistake
one day) was that you have to click and drag a bit and wait longer than you
would think is necessary.  Eventually it does highlight and you can copy,
cut and paste everything that you could do before.  I don't know why it is
so slow......am just glad I can do it.!!!!

It could be that you are on a frame page in which case copy and paste is
temperamental.  Try a page that you know is text only.

I have Netscape 4.04 and I don't have any trouble at all. Occasionally I
have to drag from bottom to top instead of the other way to get the
highlight to work, but other than that, no problems. Also am able to copy
pictures.

First of all, you should be using Communicator 4.04.  Secondly, I have no
problems copying text from websites on my Mac.  Click, hold, and drag.
File/copy (command-c) and paste as usual.  I'm guessing it's a glitch. b
Download 4.04 and reinstall.

I'm having the same problem..so please share what you find out. I've been
selecting the entire message and copying, then pasting..then deleting parts
I  don't want..Not very efficient but it works.
