Hi everyone, I have been asked to post the results of the digital imaging question. try out the following sites: one site is very techie: http://www.shortcourses.com/ and this site is kinda cheesy but still okay pegasus.cc.ucf.edu/~ucfcasio/qvuses.htm In the school I am in we use a digital camera to put pictures in the school newspaper. We use the zap shot and tv/vcr for presentations. The students photograph images, type information, etc and set the presentation to music. Though some kinds of images are not great quality on the old zap shots, the camera offers an introduction to the dizitized concept. We could never really get going with the old zap shot and the computer. Our new digital permits easy hookup with the computer so we looking forward to some creative and great looking work. We complete a unit on ponding, I am using the digital camera to take pictures in order to create a field guide to our local pond. I have also take it on field trips and have used it in class for pictures to include on parent newsletters. There are three teachers who are going to present at our workshop. One teacher is communicating with another class across the country, and is attaching digital images to the classes e-mail. Another is using digital imaging in a science project. The students are writing scientific journals of plant life similiar to the Lewis and Clark Expedition. They are describing aspects of the plant, digital images and the location that the plant was found. Another is using digital images with a local historical project. Personally, I can think of using digital images combined with literature to improve wirting skills. ------------------------------------- Name: Maryanne Donnelly Computer Integration Instructor/School Media Specialist Broome-Tioga BOCES Binghamton, New York 13903 E-mail: mdonnell <mdonnell@stny.lrun.com> Date: 3/21/98 Time: 6:10:44 PM This message was sent by Chameleon ------------------------------------- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
