GEN: Have you ever heard of this fairytale

Last evening my husband was telling me of this fairytale he had heard of
about a guy who falls in love with a girl.  He does something wrong and her
dad makes him choose between two doors, behind one is a lion waiting to eat
him, behind the other is a parade with the girl at the end.  The story ends
asking the question which one the girl tells him to choose (she does love
him).  Any ideas?  TIA
