One of my favorite writers is Sue Hubbell. She is a former university librarian who moved to a primitive farm in the Ozarks to raise bees and make and sell honey. Her books are delightful, especially if you like natural science. She LOVES bugs. More recently she published *Far Flung Hubbell* which is a collection of her pieces for the New Yorker. Pre-Tina Brown. One of my favorites is on a trip she took to see where she could find the best made- from-scratch pies in the Eastern US. Inspired me to whip up an apple pie last Saturday. Most large public libraries have at least one of her books. They're great!
