Target:violence in movies

Hi, I'm hoping you can help me out.  My school secretary is looking for
information on censoring violence in movies, especially movies that are
aimed at teens (ie: I know what you did last summer - Lois Duncan has a
letter in SLJ -Jan I think - that is very interesting and even
disturbing at how little input she had.)  She is looking for the pros of
this - maybe v chip types stuff, but information on violence leading to
violence, desensitivity, and the cons as well would be great (this is my
request, need balance).  If you have any information on where to look,
please help me. TIA
