I did not receive too many resposnes, but you're welcome to them. I did order
a copy of the Bullseye edition, and it it's remarkable in either way, I'll
report on that.

Thank you to those who responded.

While it hasn't shown its face YET, I'll bet that Eyewitness will make this
one of their Eyewitness classics (they already did Hunchback, among
others.) I have really enjoyed their versions, as adaptations go.

Fearon/Pacemaker is a publisher that specializes in remedial texts and
abridged versions of classic literature. Check them out and ask the
local rep to meet with you - with samples. Or, if you go to the state's
education association convention (I'm not sure if the reps have exhibits
at AASL) they may have exhibits there.

Sharon: I have had good luck with the Illustrated Classics series for
kids who need an easier read. The text is large and is broken up with
pen-and-ink drawings. I have one on Frankenstein, Moby Dick, Heidi,
Black Beauty, and some others. Try Exeter Books out of New York, too -
they have classics in a similar format.
