Gayle Hodur hodur@redshift.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Fearon/Pacemaker is a publisher that specializes in remedial texts and abridged versions of classic literature. Check them out and ask the local rep to meet with you - with samples. Or, if you go to the state's education association convention (I'm not sure if the reps have exhibits at AASL) they may have exhibits there. Barbara Barbara R. Herbert http://www.georgian.edu ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sharon: I have had good luck with the Illustrated Classics series for kids who need an easier read. The text is large and is broken up with pen-and-ink drawings. I have one on Frankenstein, Moby Dick, Heidi, Black Beauty, and some others. Try Exeter Books out of New York, too - they have classics in a similar format. -sgrigsby@atlchai.org ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= To quit LM_NET (or set NOMAIL or DIGEST), Send an email message to listserv@listserv.syr.edu In the message write EITHER: 1) SIGNOFF LM_NET 2) SET LM_NET NOMAIL or 3) SET LM_NET DIGEST * NOTE: Please allow time for confirmation from Listserv.
