A social studies teacher and I have been searching print and non-print materials and the internet for a picture of something she recalls from an anthropology class she took in college. It is a picture or drawing of a ladder with various classes of society on rungs of the ladder, at the top and "closest to heaven" is the "White Anglo-Saxon Protestant" and various other ethnic groups are on lower rungs, the bottom rung being animals. She is teaching about prejudice and racism and how to combat it and wants to illustrate how things have changed over the years. Does this tweak anyone's memory? I'm coming up emptyhanded. Thanks!
