One of my 5th grade teachers has asked if I can find penpals from other countries
for some of his students. I asked "Which country?", so of course he asked the
students to choose. They would like to correspond with students in France, Egypt,
Korea, Jamaica, Canada, or anywhere in Europe, anywhere in Africa, anywhere in
Asia, and "someplace tropical". Our school is still in the process of being wired
for internet and some of the classrooms have it and some don't. I think this will
start, at least, being via snail mail. Our 5th graders are mostly 11 years old some
are 10, a few 12. Some of the studnts have asked for boys or girls to write to byt
the teacher says that gender doesn't matter.

We are in Ashland,Oregon, a town of about 17,000 located 18 miles north of
California. If you look at your US map we are on Interstate highway 5 almost half
way between Portland, Oregon and Sacramento, California.
