While there are myriad considerations in and for the library staffing issue, the crux remains as follows: Putting a flight attendant in the cockpit under emergency circumstances is expedient and appropriate. Placing them there as a matter of course is grossly negligent--is stupid. AND The individual which fails to step forward to share his/her gifts with a world in need is the passenger, trained in flying, who fails to step forward to take control, in the absence of a pilot. The crash is inevitable when we presume to be here merely for the ride. In any event, be it a professional, a para-professional, a politician or a drunk, if/while we find them in the pilot's seat we are wise to offer them our utmost support in getting us--or would that be our kids--back safely on the ground. Take care. JEK ***** Work should be about alleviating headaches--not exacerbating them. Jeffrey E.
