I'm curious about how year round schools handle summer All Star teams, and specialized summer camps. My son's 12 year old All Star Baseball team, made it to the World Series in Florida last summer. After winning the NH State Tournament, they spent 10 days at the NE Regionals, and 11 days at the World Series. You couldn't do that if you were in school. Do students in year round schools loose out on activites like this? What do you do if you teach, and your child is on another schedule? Do you just never take vacations together? I've never taught anyplace where they have year round school, and I'm curious about it.
