Teacher Certification and Continuing Education

Hi-My principal is very interested on the number of states which require
teachers to take continuing education credits after receiving
certification.  Does anyone know a good place to find this information?
I have searched the NEA, ERIC and many educational sites to no avail. I
have looked through the Department of Education website also. Anyone
else have any clues for me? Thanks!
