Thank you, Nancy, for posting the list of books which would help someone build a collection for reluctant readers. However, a note of caution: Two years ago, I was putting together an opening day order for a school with a 100% limited-English-proficient student population. I wanted to order many of the books which were in these sources (specifically, I consulted the High/Low Handbook., and High interest-Easy Reading-A Booklist for Junior and Senior High School Students). Well, to my dismay, but certainly not my surprise, almost all of the books I wanted to order were out of print! Unfortunately, as we all know, by the time many of these resources come out, a number of the books in it are out of print; several years later, the percentage just shoots up! However, I do use 100 World-Class Thin Books -or- What to Read When Your Book Report is Due Tomorrow sometimes with students, since we have a large number of the books listed, and, as Nancy pointed out, the book contains much more than just a list of skinny books.
