Our library has Dell optiplex and Compaq Deskpro 5100 computers with Windows 95 and Fortress 101. We are running our catalog and Accelerated Reader 95% of the time. The problem we have is that the students will open either the catalog or AR or both several times on a computer without even realizing it. They do this by hitting the little "Flying Window" symbol key near the space bar, which takes them back to the desktop, and then rather than clicking on the toolbar at the bottom to reopen the program they click on the icon and open the program a second time. I think they also do it by impatiently clicking the mouse too many times and the program will just keep opening over and over. There are times I glance at the toolbar and see 10-15 little boxes down there of the same program open. Of course, when we start havingthe programs freeze up, the first thing I do is check all the stations to see which ones have the programs open more then once. Is there any way to program either Windows 95 or Fortress 101 to tell the computer not to open the same program twice? -- Deborah M.
