TARGET: Copyright question

I have a teacher who has asked me about the legalities involved in publishing
an errata pamphlet to go along with a science text that he did not write.  He
wants to list all the mistakes and the steps to take to correct them.  Do you
know if he could legally do that or could anyone send me the address of a
copyright list?
