I have a REAL challenge for y'all. Our English department wants to make
changes in their list of required books for 7th and 8th grades. The head
of the department has asked me to suggest some titles for her, which meet
the following criteria:
Must not be a YA book - must be written for adults
Should have a teen protagonist
Must not contain language or sexual situations inappropriate for 7th and
8th graders
Must be of enduring quality
Preferable multi-cultural

I personally think she should explore the wonderful world of quality YA
books, and I could be of great help to her if she would consider some of
them. I guess I think her criteria are so ridiculous that I don't even
feel like spending time thinking up titles for her (is it the end of the
year, Lynn? are we feeling a bit stressed?). Anyhow, any help you could
give would be VERY much appreciated!

TIA, Lynn
