Weeding Humor

My para and I have laughed so hard over some the books we've weeded.  (Actually,
I suppose we should be crying over how old some of these books are.)

My personal favorite ...  a biography of Elvis saying that he "now only performs
two months out of the year, mainly in Las Vegas".

I love using that as an example of how poor our collection is.

Save a few of the worst examples ... derogatory, stereotypical, damaged, etc. to
show staff members.  Great to use at a staff meeting to explain what's going on
in the media center.  "THey" just don't understand the purpose of weeding
(deselection) and are often surprised the library is getting rif of "good
books".
