changing systems/circulations ?'s

I'm hoping someone has invented this "wheel"  before us.  We will be
changing from Autographic Slims to Follett Windows over the summer.
There's one question we can't seem to get answered.  What happens to the
circulation records for those items in circulation when we change?  Do we
have to "check them all in" and then check
them out on the new system? There's no good way to get a hard copy of all
items on loan from the  Autographics database (it looks like we would have
to put in each card individually and pull up items on loan for each
person, then print).  Do we inventory once before, and then after the
change?  Am I missing something obvious?  Is anyone from Follett
listening?  Is it just that our salesperson isn't trying hard enough to
get us the answer?
