ELEM:Prices in the past

Dear LM_Netters,
    Our fifth grade students are studying immigration and need to locate the
prices of certain items at various times in the past 200 years as well as
average wages earned.  Does anyone know of a web site or print source where
this kind of information would be available?  Elaine Donoghue
