I received these three responses from my request for help with the archives. Thanks everyone----I've finally found my way! Marlene Boven Northern Michigan Christian School McBain, Mi boven@netonecom.net #1....... for the archives, follow the link at the bottom of the page to the LM_NET website. From there link to Search the archives. Click on which piece of lm_net you want to search: current, 1997, or pre-1997. Put your search in the box and hit submit. It now searches the whole message, not just the subject line (like the old gopher). #2.......The address to the archives is always at the bottom of every message you get from the LM NET......scroll down the message, it's always posted at the end. Here it is......... http://ericir.syr.edu/lm_net/ When you get the yellow page for Eric.....scroll down....I think it's the 4th twirling item down, hit "searched" , and it will give you a screen with a bunch of different options to click. Click the box BEFORE the LM Net words, type in your search word, and it will pull up a bunch of sources.....Just remember you're looking for a HIT. Every response from the LM NET is in there.....so look for key words like HIT and Re;.......I spent a lot of time opening up peoples' TARGETS and questions, while I was looking for an answer.......good luck..... #3......Go here: http://ericir.syr.edu/plweb-cgi/fastweb?searchform+listservs Then, before you type in a search term, make sure you've checked the boxes beside the archives you want to search in. (LM_NET, LM_NET-1997, LM_NET- pre1997, etc) then enter your search term and click submit. This gets to a bunch of listserv archives: http://ericir.syr.edu/plweb-cgi/fastweb?searchform+listservs ................. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-= All postings to LM_NET are protected under copyright law.
