N.Missouri/S. Iowa only:guest author

Our first grade teachrs have started the tradition of planning a parent
night in the spring that incorporates a visiting author. Since we are
operating on a more limited budget than ever before, I decided to check and
see if anyone in this immediate area (north to Des Moines, south to KC) was
planning to have a guest author at their school in the spring, and would be
willing to share expenses. I know that there are authors that come to the
Children's Literature Festival in Warrensburg that also do school visits
while they are in the area, but I'm not sure which ones are attending next
spring, or which ones are even available to make such visits. I will
appreciate any ideas that anyone in this area might have.
